Getting started

How do I create my first gallery?

From your dashboard, click "New Gallery", give it a name, and upload your photos. Once uploaded, you can share the gallery with a client by entering their email.

Do I need a paid plan to start?

No. The free plan gives you 2 galleries and 1 GB of storage, no credit card required. Upgrade anytime when you need more.

How long does setup take?

Most photographers are up and running in a couple of minutes: create an account, create a gallery, upload photos, share.

Managing galleries

How many photos can I upload per gallery?

There is no per-gallery photo limit. Storage is pooled across your account based on your plan.

Can I control whether clients can download photos?

Yes. Download permissions are set per gallery. You can allow full-resolution downloads or disable them entirely.

Can I add a watermark to my photos?

Yes. Upload a watermark logo in your account settings, then toggle watermarking on or off per gallery.

Client access

How do clients access their gallery?

Clients receive an email with a link to their gallery. They can view it in any web browser or through the free ApertureBook mobile app for iOS and Android.

Do my clients need to create an account?

No. Clients access galleries via a secure link. They can optionally install the mobile app for a better browsing and download experience.

Can clients favorite photos?

Yes. Clients can mark favorites from both the web and the mobile app, making it easy for them to flag the photos they love most.

Billing & plans

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Go to Settings → Subscription. You can switch plans at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period. No fees, no runaround.

What happens to my galleries if I cancel?

Your galleries remain accessible until the end of your billing period. After that, access may be limited if your storage exceeds the free tier. We'll always notify you before any changes.

The mobile app

Is the mobile app for photographers or clients?

The mobile app is designed for clients. It gives them a native experience to browse their gallery, favorite photos, and download, without needing a browser.

Where can clients download the app?

The ApertureBook client app is free on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. Clients can also open their gallery in any web browser, no app required.

Does the app work offline?

Clients need a connection to load galleries and photos. Downloaded photos are saved to their device and are available offline after download.
